Types of blood sugar tests
Fasting blood glucose test : Measures your blood sugar after fasting for at least 8 hours. This test is often used to screen for or monitor diabetes or prediabetes.
Glucose tolerance test : Measures your blood sugar before and after you drink a liquid that contains glucose.
Blood sugar test using a meter : You can use a meter and a test strip to check your blood sugar level at home.
